Larval treatment for eastern Livermore on Oct 10th, 3am to 5am

After detecting invasive Aedes aegypti mosquitoes in Eastern Livermore the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District will conduct a WALS larval treatment on Friday October 10th along the streets between Joyce St. and S. Vasco St. This is a new area the district is treating for the year. For additional information about Aedes aegypti, visit: https://www.mosquitoes.org/aedes-aegypti-faqs

WALS is an approach to larval control that uses a form of larvicide, which targets immature mosquitoes in the water using a naturally occurring bacterium to kill mosquito larvae before they emerge into biting adults. Control of mosquitoes while in the larval stage is the backbone of most mosquito control programs in California.
