Ochlerotatus Mosquitoes of California

Ochlerotatus = Aedes

Insect taxonomists recently updated the classification of some of California's mosquito species.  The genus Aedes was split into 2 genera, Aedes and Ochlerotatus.  Almost all of California's Aedes mosquitoes were reclassified into the genus Ochlerotatus (4 were kept in the Aedes genus).  Taxonomists more recently changed the genus Ochlerotatus BACK into Aedes!  So now, all of California's Ochlerotatus mosquitoes are Aedes once again.
